Robot Boot-up
Steps
Before you start the boot-up sequence make sure the regulator is connected to the battery. Then follow these steps in this same order:
Make sure the Arduino is not connected via USB to the UpBoard.
Plug the 12V output of the regulator to the Arduino.
Boot the Arduino microcontroller — for old versions of the mBot Ranger you will have to use a small screwdriver or pen.
Plug the 5V/4A output of the regulator to the UpBoard. This will make it automatically boot.
It's important to follow the steps in the same order. A typical failure is that the Arduino boots using the power from the USB. In that case, it will not have the 12V available for the motors.
